  1. The Baltimore, MD, PD doesn't have any cool 2dr wagons today. Their squad cars of today are in short supply as many have been trashed and burned by rioters.

Like the B17 the P47 was known to get the guys home after being shot up. I'm fortunate, there's a couple local museums near me with flying warbirds. What a wonderful racket these things P-47-Lt-Edwin-King-flak-caused-oil-leak-Italy-Jan45.jpg P47.jpg p47 germany.jpg make!

Caddo Mills dragstrip was in Caddo Mills, Texas and it is still an active airport with a few planes still kept there. It was originally an "auxiliary field" dating back to WWII. Most of the runways are still intact and local sports car clubs still use the facility for road races. It is quite a place to visit although it is only flat concrete runways in the middle of what was once cotton fields.
Interestingly, for many years there has been a nice 1/8 mile dragstrip located just three miles south of where Caddo Mills Airport is located. Redline Raceway is presently closed and under renovation, but when it re-opens it should be a nice facility. Being that it is 20 minutes from my house I am anticipating the facility re-opening.

Rolla's # 16 now belongs to Gordie Alberg from Victoria, BC. Gordie also owns a real, Oregon State Police '61 Chevy, complete with light and siren, just like the one Gary posted a few frames after your post ! I need to make it down to Lake Oswego and pay Rolla a visit.

Weasel by Studebaker pulling troops on skis in 1945. I once had a chance to talk with some members of the 1st Special Force for whom the Weasel was original built. The veteran i spoke with said they could pull 50 men on skis with a Weasel. Speaking with these guys was a real honor.

There have been many pictures of the Dick Gonzales '55 Speedster custom. This picture shows Larry Watson pinstriping the car.

I believe this is not any salvage yard, but vehicles abandoned by the Red Army when they were retreating in the Finnish front. I've seen this photo in other context, too. Near to top right corner you can see a group of soldiers. Most of the vehicles are GAZ-A trucks, i.e. Model AA Ford "licensees" build in the factory sold to Russia by Henry Ford in 1932 after he gave up model A for the deuce.
