This car has been a blast.
Even though it has put me to the test.
Just got home from a social with Tom and got the chance to put my oil presser gauge on the the 460 inch 409 in his SS (the oil light was staying on) and found out it had oil pressure.
So the plan is to build a stock 409 /409 for his SS and take the stroked engine out of it and install it in the BelAir. Hope this car will be in the 11s after this upgrade.

Going to Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury Mo for the American Hot Rod Reunion this weekend. This is a bracket race so wish me luck. I am not the best at this but any day at the track is better than none.
Sad but may be the last outing for the year.
Guess I will see what upgrades are in store for the winter.

    Thanks Baron
It looks like our weather forecast for the weekend is good maybe 80s which sounds good because its supposed to get in the 30s tonight here.
I do have a score to settle with Jackson or at least put a win on my side anyway. But he is running his digger. Not looking good for me oh well.

Going to spend some time with my switched duel points and see if there is anything more.
I have some carb spacers but afraid my not have jets to support them with me.

Well the car ran great. Ranged from a 12.50 to a best for the weekend of a 12.33.
But went out second round, sleeping at the wheel and broke out.
I had one .0009 reaction time that got me a bye run for first round. Guess I should have saved some for second round.

Well last weekend may have been the last outing for the year and it was a good one.
Did some grudge races against my good friend Jackson aka Wrenchbender
I had the best E.T.s out of the bucket of used parts.
    Car ran a 12.23 , 12.21 and a 12.27
Now the 12.21 is the best for this car ever and to say the least I am pretty damn proud of what the car has done to date.
I think this winter may have some upgrades in store for it and I will try and keep everyone updated as it progresses. WheelUp.jpg

Well leave it to me to take a fine running car and take it apart.
I pulled the engine Friday getting ready for a 460 inch stroked 409 for some 2017 fun.
Going to pull the trans and give it a freshening up and going to install a 59 Pontiac rear end with hopes that the drive train will be up to the task. 20161202_224011.jpg

I got one of those 409 WP pulleys..... it is very similar to SBC Vette Deep Groove. I wonder of the Crank Pulley's are similar to Corvette. Seems like the 348, 409 shared a lot of dimensions, bolt spacing with the SBC. Hard to throw a belt with deep grooves. I have run the captive belt system on the 292 and its good to 9K rpm.

No I am trying to figure out what to with the new used engine.
When I took it apart I have one cylinder that some real bad scratches and being the block is .100 over...just not real sure what my best plan for this.
I have found some some pistons that are .125 over but for a different crank.
The other option wound be to sleeve the one cylinder.
So I am on the fence on the engine and as much as I would like to step up this year the more it is looking like I will put the engine back in that I have been running.

Best pass that nite? Or ever BC ur ran a 15.44 which I would think with the right gears and carbs running right and ur short fixed it should turn around 12's maybe even mid elevens, at 15.44 that engine has a lot more left in it I believe lol jmo run that fine 409 as hard as u can to the line lol
