hi to all here is some pitchers of were I am on my 31 ford. it has a 318 engine with a 174 B&M small supercharger. 727 trans with the drum e-brake on the tail shaft. ford 9in with 3.50 gear I took 4in out of the left side if the axle to get it to fit the car. I made the gill shell. took 4in out of the top and lower the body over the frame by 3 1/2in over the 31 rails with 2x4 tubing boxed inside of them with a 10in kick up in the back. just got done building the headers got the bands from hell gates hot rod he makes very good flanges and bends at a fair price. it does run and drive pretty good.
still lack the side gl*** and making some door panels. so I like it. any pros or cons on it. first time building one just would like some input.

Scoop and all that bright red stuff need to go too. And advance your timing a bit. I'd pave over the door art too.

the door art was a look back at the noise art the crews put on there boomers from ww2. on the timing I got it set for a happy mid point to be drivable on the street. the carb is not nor modified for the blower and it is a Holley hp 850 with no vacuum reference port for the distributor. the power valve for now I have it blocked off

I do agree on the wheels but the scoop would be a little more then just changing. I have the oil press and vacuum/boost gauges mounted in the back of it. thanks for all the inputsn good and need to be looked at and changed.

First of all nice job with the build. Since you asked our opinion, here's mine. If I were to buy it today here is what I would change.
    1, wheels and tires
2, air cleaner scoop and plug wires
    3, ankle burning side pipes
4, I would remove the door art, large door art works better on trucks. Placing a smaller version on the cowl looks better.

First build? Congratulations! Its tough to see the build through to
driver. Nice proportions and stance. I,d be proud to drive it anywhere.
Have fun with it, make changes as you go along, they are never "finished".

I like it, My changes personally would be the Wheels, and Grill, looks too much like a Model T to me, which I personally dislike. But I appreciate that you built it. I am also not a Mopar guy in the least, so that would have to go if it was mine. But all in all Looks like a fun ride.

thinks on the grill shell for it was going to cost for one then would still have to cut it up to fit the car I just thought I make one. I have a 34 ford AA truck grill shell that I was going to use but it would have taken a lot of chopping it up to get it to look good sense it is big.

    "A" for effort, brother!

I want to build a '30 or '31 A sedan myself, I favor old beat up parts, and a more stock look so I will probably do it a little differently, but I dig your A and can see how hard you worked on it. I don't have your skills, so mine will be a mess I'm sure.

I like that you fabbed the radiator shell, but to me it's kind of odd, but so what? It's cool that you fabbed it yourself!

I like pin ups and art, but to me it's a bit like all of the T-shirts people wear with "theoretical" hot rod shop businesses, it's distracting from your hand made car, which is a real accomplishment.

On it's own, (without comparing to a lot of sick traditional Model A rides here on Hamb) it's awesome. If it were mine I would never wash it and bomb around every day of the year, let it thaw out a little.

If anyone hates on it, politely ask them to stand behind it for a moment, then smoke them out!

thanks I to used a lot of older parts just cleaned them up and a little paint to make it last a little longer then a couple of year. why buy it more then ones I know I cant. I would not get rich on it but I think I can get what I got in it around 8.000 all in as of now if I had to sell it in the unknown ie not for a long time and best of all its not eating nothing and I like taking it out and getting pitchers and thumps ups on it. you can build a car or truck any way you like. you do a rush job and tinker on it or take your time but you still have to tinker on it that just how it goes it looks like. and work on it when you want to and not make it a job or it would be harder to get it done as we all have jobs to go to but this is more of a hobby like other due things as a hobby.

Nice job on the build but like many others have said I would change out the wheels and tires. Also I would go with some Lake Headers and not wild about the grille shell.
However to each their own and enjoy it !!!

I like your A. As others have suggested I would go for different wheels and tires. Good job YOU built it.

Congrats on your first build, like most first builds your tastes and style that your going for will change a little as you go. I would probably change a couple of the small things mentioned but thats just me,drive the wheels off of it. Enjoy

thanks for the diff. inputs on my ride I do agree on the wheels and tires. now I just have to think of what will work that looks like they should be on the car with out costing a arm and a lag. the new stuff would cost over 1000 dollars and its hard to find a used set with a 5 on 5.5 lug paten. and the used older stuff is sometimes over 1000 dollars. that's y I went with what's on it now just cost of tires. rims first tires will have to run for a little bit. (for 2017 the hunt is on for rims). the hunt is a fun part in a build you get to see other cool things when surfing or out in the old burns or woods .

I dig it, and as the others have stated the wheels and tires have got to go. if you have a 5 1/2 pattern then go to the bone yard and get a set of 70's ford truck steel wheels for the back. Last pair i bought i paid like 40 bucks for. then look for a pair of earlier for truck wheels for the front. F100 up through 66 should be 5 or maybe 6 inches wide, or a pair of F1 wheels that are 5 inches wide. There are still tons of those and you could have a set of steelies for less than a 100 buck, it would make such a difference in the look of your ride.

I asked for opinions on the Hamb just once. I agree with most of the suggestions....rims, air cleaner, plug wires. But I think you have the makings of a very nice car. I would paint the exhaust with a VHT stainless steel colored heat paint for headers. When the paint is cooked it will kind of have a very cool mild golden color to it($20 for two cans). The heat colors changes on the headers kind of distract from the coolness of the car( I like the headers) . I understand how you built it and think it's awesome. Gary

thanks I did paint the header with VHT primer then VHT silver. I did have 318/360 fender well open header on it and it was just to load to even talk to someone when driving down the road sounded real cool at first. these are loud and have a good deep rumble and you can hear your self think when driving down the road . I have the speedway agers in the 3 1/2in side pipes..
