  2. You are welcome! We had a neighbor who had a Falcon wagon and towed the biggest Shasta all over the place. He would pack up the family in it every Friday after work and they camped all over Oregon and Washington every weekend.

This is the John Mecom owned Hemi powered Hussein sports car that A.J. Foyt drove. It was very fast but didn't really handle all that well. The car started life as a Cooper Monaco and it was named in honor of King Hussein of Jordan who was a racing fan and a business partner of the Mecom family.

Max Kelley was the mechanic on the car and he is seen leaned over alongside it. Max was involved in everything in racing at one time or another including Le Mans and Indianapolis. He had a race shop in Signal Hill (near Long Beach) and this photo may have been taken there.

Max was also one of most helpful racers of all time who would never steer anyone wrong if they asked him a question even though he might have to be racing against them later.

BTW, the Hussein is now part of the collection in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.

NEVER speak off color of Pam. She is drag racing royalty. She used to be a member on here until she got tired of the juvenile comments, even on her own thread.

    Jeez, children.

  23. For years, from the time I started shaving, my Mom would get both me and the old man a 3 piece Old Spice set - after shave, cologne and talcum powder. God Bless Ya Mom!
