It is interesting! I've been trying to figure out the scene. The woman in the hat to the far left standing, seems to be taking a photo with an old brownie camera-------the woman sitting on the back of the flatbed is wearing 'outdoor' lace up activity boots-----the railroad track doesn't seem to be well used----perhaps a sight-seeing tour?....or maybe a college conservation corp volunteer situation? It's all very casual, and they don't seem to enthusiastic about having a picture shot of them! To the far right of the photo, I can just make out a chimney and 2 roof-lines. It's odd that there isn't any indication or cause of what they are all posing for with such dour faces....I like the pic though.:)

Well, the one facing the camera is Packard for sure, but I was just taught by an old timer, that the one with the valve cover removed really is a Buick, a Buick light six, that is. The Buick 8 appeared first time no sooner but 1931 and the style was totally different by then, see below.
The long and complex exhaust manifold is due to an odd intake heating system, I was told, which was not any succes in any respect. Acc. to many owners it merely "cooked" the fuel decreasing mileage by far...

^I was told, that the car in above pic is a 1926-27 Chandler Six - Unfortunately the recognizable radiator shell is hidden by the man in front... The car should be similar to below.

Right you are. I saw one at Harrah's car museum in the early 70s. They were casting new wheels for it. I believe it was this same car.

    Hey Paul
BTW, my wife is a floral designer and a couple times a year she drags me out to a few suppliers. Visited Heirloom Roses a couple years ago, its funny how people are with their particular areas of interest, they're just like us car people, they really get excited about it.
I actually enjoyed myself.....I must be getting old.
