That car was actually a local car that ran a 289 with some support from ford of Canada.Guy held a bunch of D/S records at one time.

Mine actually says "YOU LOSE" on the tail light panel.
I stole that from the ex-Grumpy's Toy/Brooklyn Heavy street race car....

Been under the weather ( dam cold won't let me sleep ) felt better today so pulled the heads.

Pistons have a lot of soot burn't on tops, and may have been rocking in the bore?

Can see some honing left in bores but on top & bottom of bores ( below rings ) pistons skirts have
polished the bores smooth. Is that normal ?

 

Good job Norb you did not wipe down the piston. Now you have an idea of what going on in there and where it needs help.
The shadow don't look good.

Don't let the chevy guys give ya shit Scott , hopefully the print is big enough to read from a distance. May have to squint to make out what it says from five car lengths behind. Riff Raff has an orange triangle on its back panel.

 

I can't remember how big the lettering is on the rear of Scott's car, I couldn't see it the last time it was out because of all the track officials standing around the back of it.

 

Well, I was in the "yesterday" category, so I'm hoping I was early enough to get in... or at least low on the wait list.
Said I'd never miss it, so I guess it'll be a "show car" if not lol

 

You couldn't see it because you were too scared to actually bring your car out to the track Randall....Hard to see much of anything while you're hiding in the garage.
We made the 8hr haul one way just to work on it for 8hrs in the pits,run it through tech,then break the damn thing.

For me it's the racing in my blood that keeps me coming back.
And yeah... Randall where were you in 2016????
Scott if need more help this year throw out flag or somthin.

 

Looks like working on the car is on the back burner for a while longer.
-Wife backed my truck into her jeep this morning,damaging both
-just paid $900 to get an operation done on her $400 dog so the kids wouldn't lose their minds
-just agreed to run another job 2hrs from home (it's a little one and will only take a month or so to complete)
-decided I'm not ready to freeze on a concrete floor while it's -15 out there

Just not ready to get at it yet,fellas...

Gonna hit it hard when I get back home though.
Not many big jobs to do,but lots of little ones.It's gonna take a lot of work to get it ready for spring,run plenty of test n tune passes,and bring a well-sorted car to the Meltdown this year,to run some passes and have some fun.

I'm gonna be pretty scarce around here for a couple months while I get this job completed,and get back to work on the ol heap.

I'll keep you guys posted when I get back to work on it.

I just wanted to say that you guys are some of the best friends a guy could possibly be blessed with,and your help at last year's event was by far some of the greatest kindness I have ever been shown,and it speaks volumes about the kind of men you are.

Hey that 32 Ford was really fast! I think he ran in the 13s... The old 12 second Austin was lucky to be that close!
