  1. Some more Parham & Doane.

Parham & Doane 55 gasser. Evolved from street car to showpiece. One of my favorites from the 60's in the NW! Gary Parham lurks here on the HAMB,

  3. OH LOOK! Spindle mounts! IF you put those on your car, you weren't LEGAL in the gas classes. you were an altered! You might read the rules I linked to!
I know modern cars and wheel mfgr's SAY "gasser", but the just aren't!
NO altered wheelbase, no gutted interiors! Just gas class cars please! ;)o_O

  5. I'm guess 61 or 62. Don't know anything else.

  6. That car still is alive and well. It's been restored and has been in a thread on here. Definitely not the same car Bass bought.

Wow! there are some great pics in this thread. Thanks to all those posting.

Can I get a little schooling? I was born in '65 so was just barely in this world when most of these cars were running. This may be a stupid question, and could probably be answered with a "GTS" (Google That Shit) but I'm lazy. Can someone explain the difference between the Gas classes; A, B, C, D, etc?

Thanks again to all sharing the history
    Bobby

It's all about the power to weight ratio.

The classes were split by pounds per cubic inch. That's why you might see two cars that appear to be the same but one might run A/Gas and another with the same body might be a D/G car.
Also, to differentiate Gas from Altered class cars gassers were allowed no more than 10% engine setback and had to run most street equipment. Altereds on the other hand could have a 25% setback, no lights, wipers, bumpers, etc. and be center steer.
