Sounds like the Tampa Bay museum should go on my 'must see' list.

Likewise here. I'd love to see some of the vehicles at the museum especially the Mathis.

You should know that when anyone tell you there is "Only one surviving of a group" That there are others hiding out there. I have spend my life finding the "other one"

2nd the "great" museum recommendation. I haven't been in a few years, so I don't know how much the collection may have changed. I should get back there, eh? Gary

Managed to have a new years holiday at the beach reading the latest 'The Automobile'
Interesting article on the Brighton Bubble (Isetta made in the Brighton Factory in UK) among other interesting articles on a rare English cycle car and the Fraser Nash archives. Dont you just love the summer!

I love The Automobile, but the last one I bought cost $13.50 and the closest shop that sells it is an hour away...

I was stunned to learn the price of magazines abroad.I could purchase a copy here in the states(Fairbanks,Alaska) and mail it to my friends cheaper than they could buy it where they lived.... if they could find it at all.

It is certainly cheaper to subscribe down here than buying it from the local newsagent.

The problem with the racing minis was fuel frothing caused by vibration that sunk the floats. The solution was vertical extensions on the float bowls. SU float bowls are round with central floats so the level in the float bowl is fairly neutral to lateral G

However as the float bowl is to one side of the main jet the fuel level in the main jet can change with G or slope. In the later HIF SU carbs they made the float chamber concentric to the main jet so this was no longer a problem

Thanks, good info. I wrote to Eurocarbs and they said to put in smaller float needles if I use a pump. That did not address the issue.

With so much real history around in need of preservation....... Why do people insist on unhistoric crap... Honest there are real objects out there at all price levels. I've had people give me things free or near just to see it survive and operate once more.
