  3. I'm going through Chevy withdrawals while it's with Aaron at Fast Al's Upholstery getting some killer new carpet and the trunk touched up. Then, John Meyer @cleancutcreations is gonna help me with fixing a few paint ouchies. So, since I likely won't be back in my hands for a little bit yet to be driving, how about a couple pics from the 2011 GNRS of this stunner built by Circle City:

The '51 rear window really works with the 4 door sedan roofline, follows the shape of the rear door pillars perfectly.

Dodge Lancers without flippers (above)? Heresy! :D

  8. Lower model '59 Dodge caps. They didn't all have the flippers like the Royal Lancer. Those are my FAVORITE hubcaps!

At the time it was owned by Sonny Highland out of Minnisota. He bought and sold customs. twentygallons(?) hamb name out of Canada started a thread looking for this car. He built it. Sonny claimed it came from California.

I love the HAMB, what a kool place to hang out....... I miss Sonny. He would send me letters and pictures all of the time. I would throw some pictures in an envelope and always enjoyed his letters. Never got the chance to meet him in person.

    Man, that's nice!
I'd have molded in the upper grille bar, and extended the hood to match.
But... Hey? Who am I to say? HE'S driving that nice Ford!
I'm just "commentating" on the internet!

BTW, those Plymouth "caps" ruled when and where I was a kid!

I like the chrome upper bar, it mirrors the Desoto lower bumper as if they were designed together. The '57 Chevy hood "spoons" as antenna scoops in the roof is a neat touch too, and overall just very good work on a 4 door 59 Ford, well executed.

I do wonder about the headlight eyebrow treatment, but maybe there's more going on there than I can tell from the pic.

  14. I think those are actually 1947 Buick rear fender reflectors with antennas installed. I may be way off but it looks to me like Frank used Thunderbird headlight bezels under the stock fender to create a "scoop" between.

    I think that's the nicest 59 I've ever seen.....

  16. That is a sweet '59 Ford, but I've always been partial to Roger Marks' version known as "Green Ice". E

I like the blue sectioned one from Washington state. An old custom redone from way back when. My Blue Heaven is the name, I think.

  18. Oh yeah, that one is pretty special too! E

Hopefully in the near future we will have another 59 Ford to Drool over.

Shheeesh, 59's were never my favorite and now you guys hit me with 3 and maybe 4 in a row. That sectioned one looks like at was a MAJOR undertaking. All very nicely done.

I guess you could kinda compare a 59 Ford to 39 Mercury. Stock they are not much to look at but they are a Purrfect foundation for a Kustoms.

Love this Olds! Hope to find more pics...

  25. carhunter, that '59 is a bad ass car, ESPECIALLY for a high school kid. I would have proudly driven it to school and I graduated in '88!
Very cool, I love it. Does it have "dingleballs" around the window openings?

Ralph Schindel's '49 Mercury. He saved the Mercury from a scrape pile. Merc was being thrown away because the previous owner used all of the good parts. It was real Kool that Ralph saved it from the crusher. Paso John took the pics
