Hot Rods If you could pick a TRUCK that epitomizes the word "Hot Rod" what one TRUCK fits that bill?

Thinking along the same lines as Root only using "Truck" in the question.

For me Jakes bitching old 29 Model A has always had the ubiquitous hot rod look!and has stood the test of time. HRP

 

33-34 Ford pickup with hydraulic and 12V updates, equipped with an 8BA and a 39 box with Zephyr gears and either a Columbia rear or a QC.

 

1955 chevy 2nd series. In my small world anyhow.

I don't know about the "epitome" but Rick Kershs' pickup goes waaay back for me.
A real "working mans" truck.

 

This is my preferred style --- 36' Ford --- love the design, and with a good runnin' flathead..."oh yeah"

 

I think I'd have to go with Gary Fioto's east coast style '35 pickup

A really biased vote for mine sorry, but that was my vision of a Hot Rod truck

 

I like all old trucks, of course I'm partial to '38-'39 Fords because I've owned my '38 for 50 years. I like the second series '55-'59 Chevy/GMC pickups because I used to have a second series '55 Chevy. I've always liked the '37-'39 Internationals, very nice front end styling. I like seeing any old truck lettered for some business, real or fictional. My '38 Ford is lettered as a shop truck for Drake Motor Co., the Ford dealer here in Rockmart GA from 1928-1956. Phone 13, actual phone number back in the day. I have a '55 Ford (Fairlane 4 door) that my parents bought new at Drake Motor Co,

 

Never had one, wouldn't mind one but there are a few ahead of it on my list of wanted rides but when I hear hot rod truck I think 56 Ford F1.

 

Ok , maybe not the epitome but I like this 32 , and Genes truck is probably more a custom but again a cool truck to set the bar high by.

 

I had both of my favorites! Actually I've built 2 '56 Chevy pickups and owned a '40 pickup. All Hot Rods in my book. Here's the latest that got away again...

This is a very nice truck but nothing about it says hot rod to me.

 

i"m with KJSR on this one . Realy not HOT at all though !!

 

Perhaps you are right.....just love the subtle look more these days I suppose.........but, here is a more ''hot rod'' version that might draw the appropriate stance of ''hot rod'' in league with the same year & style....subtle yet with attitude!
