Here in the banana belt of the Black Hills of South Dakota we just cant get a break from this COLD ASS weather. I'm tired of it so the count down to take my pops roadster to the Grand National is on, T minus 12 days until we head south. Who else is SICK of winter?

It's 75 in Texas. I put everything away because of winter, and now I'm bored.

High of 6 above, 20 below zero tonight and 8 inches of snow on the ground here in western Wisconsin. Worked in my heated shop on the 49 Buick all day.

  6. Just a skiff of snow here in Nebraska, but high of only 22 today. Getting tired of hauling in fire wood all the time so I worked on building an addition to my wood rack. I can now store 2 times the amount of wood in my shop as in the past. I am sure I will like this new addition when it gets bad this weekend as they for cast it to.
I did for get to say winter sucks!!

79 in Fl. today. Worked all day with the shop doors open and in a t shirt with fans on.
Grew up in the U.P. of Michigan where we had one month of bad ice fishing. You can keep the cold.

  8. I hate winter, especially with no heat in my garage. I try to work on my truck and in ten minutes my toes are freezing.

  9. They are calling for 75 degrees here in the Sunny South Friday so you can bet your sweet arse I will be driving my old beater tomorrow. HRP

I Don't mind winter until it gets below zero. Haven't seen a mosquito or bee in months. I can dress for the cold, but can only take so many off for the heat.

And how about Ice Drags and Lake Autocross, snowmobiling and Atving with no dust. Love it. Now I need to take the time to do these things. ....

Been staying warm working up a sweat behind the snowblower. -25F and it feels like-40 with the wind chill. I have put 5 gallons of gas through the snow blower this winter. Another month and it will start to break. Winter is a good time to have a warm shop and a fun project. This winter's project is relocating to a new to us house with a decent sized garage & working at getting the current house refreshed for a spring sale.
Grew up with winter and have adapted to enjoy it for the past 66 years. Winters do not seem as brutal as they were when we were kids. It used to go to -35 to -40 for days on end. We had to go out every 2 hours on a New Years Eve and run the car for a few minutes so it would run when it was time to go home. Now if it goes to -40 people act as if it is the end of the world.
We like Florida and that door is always open. So far, there is no urge to go south this year.

57° here today, back down to 40° tomorrow, who knows after that. Temperatues fluctuating all over the place. Yesterday we had an ice storm. OMG, I hate winter with a passion. For me, 80° in the shade is damn near perfect.

    Tried it, hated it.
You can put on as many layers as you like and be warm and comfy, but you can take off everything and still be uncomfortable.
And not just because your naked in front of everyone......

  19. It's a living Hell here in Van Nuys. The temperature must be in the low 60's and it's cloudy and rainy too! My sandals get really slippery in the rain, but I can't wear regular shoes with shorts on! If it get's much worse I might have to wear a long sleeve t shirt.

It's crazy , my buddy in Texas said they enjoyed 28 Degrees C. basking in the sun on Xmas day. Here in our part of NZ this supposed to be our summer and the high on Xmas day was 18C. And it hasn't got much better ,cold and windy . We should be in 30C. Temperatures .
Trying to paint a roadster at present ,with no booth , just a giant fan in the shed end. A major pain with totally unseasonal wind and cold.

    Hey Gary
If you moved back to Oregon, you could wear all the things that are taboo in L.A.
    Even Birkenstocks and socks:eek:

I'm tired of winter again!....had wind over 60+ mph (consistant) past several days, with drifting snow. Blew the roof literally "off" my storage shed, trash from who-knows-where accumulation blown in & formed a barrier, and my garage needs a re-roof job now because the wind blew most of the shingles off, and my wood fence is blown over, so the dogs can't stay outside without supervision.....heck, even the darn greenhouse has shifted on it's foundation, and sits off-kilter where the door won't open:mad:....snow and rain coming in this evening again, and I'm driving my beat up old cj5 jeep that my wife complains is ''too rough-riding'', but is 4-wheel drive, and can at least get down the muddy road, whereas, my project cars and ''her'' new car can't.....

I'm taking deep breaths & listening to ''gentle water'' music to ease my throbbing head of ''THE DAMN REPAIRS''....wait, I must think ''gentle'' thoughts...yeah, must remember: ''gentle thoughts''........and hoping spring is early this year!!!

We have some crazy weather in Colorado, had a stretch of below zero, then up to the 5o & 60's on the front range. The high country has gotten so much snow that the ski areas closed for a SNOW DAY. They got too much and the workers couldn't get to work. Also, a big avalanche danger.
