Vintage shots from days gone by!

That right rear tire has a strange wear pattern; at least by today's standards. Those old "Gum Dipped Cotton Wound" Firestones could really get distorted when loaded.
And that kind of looks like a paved track in the background which might also mean that the photo was actually taken back East somewhere.

It appears to be a '32 Rockne. That was a short-lived sub-marque produced by Studebaker and named after the famed football coach.

 

I agree....that battery setup is massive....I'm betting that little diesel had a typical diesel ''growl & rattle'' to it's exhaust ....must have caused some sensation pulling up next to the car back in the day!
