Pat at Wilcap made a beautiful flywheel for my caddy engine and fitted and balanced the whole works with a clutch setup. His stuff is really fantastic ...and he's a cool cat too

At some point I'm going to make a Pines Winterfront style grill insert. Awile back I made a bending fence in the shape of a stock 32 insert. I'm going to make this out of stainless.

  5. The hand cut louvers are awesome. In fact the whole build is great. Are you rebuilding the Caddy mill or have you seen it run and are gonna let it fly? The whole set up is great, especially the air cleaners. What's the tranny, and is that an adapter?

Thanks for the kind words. The motor came out of a low mileage original car with about 50,000 miles on it. I pulled the valve covers and Valley Pan and it was super clean inside. Ran nice and smooth. Transmission is a 39 Ford that was converted to open Drive. The adapter is made by Wilcap based out of California. Their stuff is top-notch and everything fits like a glove like it should. I got the tranny adapter, the flywheel, and the clutch kit from them.

You should make a few of those winterfront grilles and retire off the ridiculous price they bring!!!!!

Happy to share this info...I've learned so much on here over the years and have met some great people. Here's a pic of me in action from a magazine article that's coming out soon. I slide the top piece of the fixture over the guide plate..support it with my hand then hit it about 5 times. The sharp top edge profile comes from the crispness of the die.

I'm not trying to highjack or start crap with my response, Sorry. I was just stating that I felt he shared an awful lot on the subject in case you haven't followed the whole thread so far(some guys seem to catch a cool thread but not read back through, especially when they become long ones). I also support and agree with the sharing of info here as it's what I do. Of course some might be on here just to mouth off or flex their finger and thumb muscle, so beware.
Again I apologize because I'm am not one of those fools. I only was trying to help and commend the authors kind sharing.
    Wyatt

I needed help getting the A pillars back in shape so Andy gave me a hand. Lots of pie cutting and splicing and dicing.

Coming along. Everything on the top has been tig welded for easy metal finishing. I may use lead on the whole car..I'm not sure yet. Things are getting really straight.

The skins of the A pillars were removed and the inner structure lined up and welded solid. Then the skin was reshaped, adjusted and welded back on
