This won't be new news for some of the guys on IG, however here is the short story.
I work for a reputable collector car auction company and "sometimes" we receive phone calls about fantasy findings or leads. 99% of these stories turn out to be false or unrealistic, however, for the first time this was not the case. First off, because I work in this industry, every intention is to always put the business first while keeping my personal interest at second. In this situation our business had no interest or desire to travel 7 hours and dig rusty old junk cars out of a trailer, in the winter, in the snow. After a few calls back and forth I was able to see some photos that would confirm this find. Keeping it hush hush for the last few weeks was stressing me to the max. Without getting into the fine details I was able to reach an agreement to purchase all of this if I was willing to take on the rescue mission.
On Saturday morning I grabbed a buddy and headed for South Eastern Ontario, knowing I was in for the experience of a lifetime. Everything so buried that we decided that the best option was to work towards cutting the front skin of the trailer off to get everything out. A couple trips to home depot and we had a rental generator, ladder, lights and various cut off tools. At this point I was invested and there was no turning back.

Keep in mind, none of this has seen the light of day since '76.
I will let the photos speak for themselves.

  3. Good for you. Not knowing the money side details, I bet you could sell of what is extra for your new project, and have the project for free.

I'm very happy for you. For me the eternal questions are there any serial numbers that would show up on law enforcement data bases, and what would compel a person to put cars like that into a enclosed trailer? This is like winning the lottery and the knock on the door is 20 sheriff's deputies wanting to ask some questions. Trust me, I'm very happy for you.

Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything here but instead of ruining that trailer why didn't they just rent one of these and pull the trailer out of the woods behind one of those tractors.
