How about that 4 door Rambler done up as an El Camino / Ranchero kind of build?

Somebody can undoubtedly do it better than I can but here's a whack at it. It'd be easier just to cut the roof off behind the center door pillars and make a boxy roof but that angled C pillar is what gives it so much of it's style. I ditched the wraparound rear window though, it took up too much box space.

I was thinking keep the hood where it is and having the grill start under it, have the bottom of the grill tilted slightly rearward

I like it! How about the back corners going down like the newer El Caminos with a concave rear window like a '67 Pontiac

Nothing wrong with that, my friend!

Big improvement ( I've got a soft spot for old El Caminos!) Thanks guys. Mike

Quintin, if you can take a straight-on front shot, or closer to straight on, preferably with a cleaner background, I'd take a crack at some ideas for that Chevy. The pictures you have posted are difficult angles/background/darkness to photoshop on, and I'm not good enough at it to use those, but I'd like to try.

I think the scale of the headlights is way off so this first one turned out kinda goofy. But it's a '48 Olds grille and bumper with '54 Buick headlights. I'll come up with something better. But I think the 30's grilles and 60's headlights are too far off in design style to work together on a late 40's car.

Very true, I just had a vision in my head but not exactly sure if it translates well in reality. I'm open to different ideas

Instead of Dion's hit song "The Wanderer", it would be "The Rambler"
    ( Bob Seeger's "Ramblin' Man" ??)

Whoa, James D you nailed it on the second one... BUT I'd have no problem driving the third one either!

    Thanks.
I was thinking I might "weaponise" version two as an Alpine Renault rally car. Another ´what if´ they had made a Dauphine coupe (well thay did actually, as the Caravelle/Floride, but never mind that) and decided to race that instead of the Alpine?:)

Could some one change the color of the roof to white. Because it's starting to peel and it needs to be painted.

  29. Hey moose, thanks again for the photoshop. I did end up buying the car partially based on your vision. I do have one more request if you could please? The car was originally white and has been painted over with the red. I would like to see what this version would look like if I sanded back the roof to reveal the white underneath. Thank you.

Can some you help me with my color-idea for the A tudor?? I like to see it in a dark chocolate brown flat paint on the body and a nice fairly dark grey on chassis, axles, Wheels and all that stuff. The photos is just found on google, because i'm not that far on mine.

    Thanks in advance.
