Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by oldguard, Feb 6, 2017.

  1. So I'm cruising thru the local Craig's List and imagine my surprise to find these scoops!!

Greg Lane 319-310-4155 Lane Racing makes these and they are advertised at $285.00 and polished is a option, he says they are cast and 24" long, 11 wide, 7" tall with a blank bottom
I ordered a polished one and I bet they go fast!!

    I had to share

Very nice! I don't even have a project to put one on, but I might have to build a whole car under a scoop. [emoji6]

It'd look better if he'd dust off that hemi. Still very cool.

  8. I'm hoping it will look right on my '42 Chevy coupe BBC/ 14-71. I bought the no name direct fit polished and finned but now am swapping to 1350 Dominators and the opening is wrong so I saw this and wham! Ha! I am using finned aluminum polished every where including the MerCruiser finned oil pan. Love those Surfer Scoops!

  10. Before this scoop I had a fibergl*** surfer but I had it for a different carb spread adaptor so I could not use it and then I got the alloy traditional oval hole but I love a Surfer style and I think this will be the Cherry indeed!! Pics coming on arrival

I've been out of town but saw the tag in the mail stack today that it's at the post office. Plan on going by tomorrow and picking it up. I'll be sure to post pics. [emoji16]

Picked up the scoop from the post office today. Suuuuuuper cool!!!! I got the satin finish rather than the high finish.....I didn't want to was all the effort that goes into a nice polish only for it to oxidize while it's sitting around waiting for a project to go on. [emoji6] I'm real pleased with it! You guys need this! [emoji16]

Nice to see things like this being cast, I appreciate the time and effort put into it. I am a softy for any thing cast in Aluminum & fin's BUT at 2' long I can't imagine using it on anything but a blown motor. I would be interested in one that would proportionately fit, length, width, height, say a Tripower or 2x4. I realize you maybe took a mold of the Fibergl*** original, did they ever offer a smaller version back in the day?
