  2. Good plan. Put miles on it and enjoy it. It might last a long time like that.

Or a lockup converter, right? (Or is that just the same thing with a different name?)

  4. Yep... Just different terminology. Actually, Packard's Ultramatic transmission used a torque converter with a lock-up clutch in the early '50s.

Your video documentations of your restoration progress have been really interesting. I really enjoyed the gas gauge repair. Great troubleshooting methods.

Im a little surprised a caddy would have vac wipers that late, i would have figured they converted to electric ones in the early 50's.

That sure makes 2 of us! Same goes with king pins. Ball joints were first on the 1957 models.

  22. Chstitans. That makes two of us. I might have to replace the king pins in my 56 Chrysler down the road. I rather do ball joints any day. Bruce.

I’ll have to catch up on the videos. I sold my 56 4 years ago and regretted it. So I bought a 55 Coupe a year ago and have been collecting parts for it.
I just found my old 56 up for sale so I’m buying it back. It has a bad front transmission seal so I guess I’ll be pulling it to reseal it. I’ve also heard there is anew rear main seal for the engine.

    Hey Ben
I watched your whole series of videos on this car. I am restoring a 56 Coupe similar to yours and your videos have really been helpful. Great job and great
    info on Cadillacs. Thanks Dano
