Wow! How many remember the multi-grade selection for Sunoco? (And those prices.)

In the early sixties, my 55 Chevy (301ci with 12 to 1 C/R) ran comfortably on the street with Sunoco 260. I wish I could buy that fuel today.

  2. thanks for posting the ace. by far my favorite four cylinder from that era. I have never had the chance to ride one but im told the ace was the fastest from the era. just works of rolling art.

Great video. Thanks. Some of the shots were taken on the John C. Lodge expressway in Detroit/Highland Park. Brings back memories.

From a Negative I found in my stash of Pictures .. Probably hasn't seen the light of day as a Positive in sixty or more years ... pretty cool.

Love the picture of the Line crew--a few have their hooks on too-hooks look like old Buckingham straights to me.

Love the honesty and simplicity of this image .... in regards to family admiration ... she writes on the back that even Hollywood doesn't have better looking children ... Car group 30239.jpg

I guess you could say this was my first car? The photo was taken sometime in 1964, at the end of my parent's driveway. I thought I looked cool wearing dads Hayward High School cap, clinching his old pipe in my mouth. The girl on the trike is my younger sister. Sadly our cool toys were passed to our first cousins, who later sold them when they had a garage sale... wish I still had that pedal car!

Love that pic, how everything is blurred except the driver and passengers.

Not sure if this is the same one but we remember a rocket like this cruising at the Street Rod Nationals in Timonium back in the 70's.

Studebaker roadster back from an endurance run, Brisbane to Burketown and return, 1924 Studebaker Big Six Speedster at the completion of an endurance run from Brisbane to Burketown, covering the 3000 mile (5000km) journey on mostly dirt roads in 110 hours. Some of the modifications for the run include fitment of a bonnet retaining strap, extra spare wheels and recovery gear on the running boards. The headlamps have also been removed, though it is not clear whether this was deliberate or because of damage sustained during the trip. The Big Six Speedster was fully imported from the USA and was powered by a 354 cid. inline six developing a maximum of 65 bhp at only 2000 rpm. The photograph was taken outside the Brisbane branch of Canada Cycle and Motor Agency, who were Queensland agents for Studebaker and Gray cars at the time.

That rocket was still cruising the street rod nationals in the mid 80's. There was a story about it in one of the magazines. Street Rodder I think.I wonder where it is today

  21. Seems not long ago when you visited Las Vegas or flying commercial airline, you brought a new outfit so you looked your best. Now, not so much. My best advice for what to wear while flying, dress like your going to run across a field covered with burning jagged metal.

Too bad these were not in the USA... But obviously Ford saw the light in 55-56 and made the 57 Ranchero, one of many of Fords ideas that were "firsts". All didn't workout, but some did well.
