In typical ford fashion I got all the lugs off loosened the adjusters and bashed the drums till they spun. Put on fresh tires and with the key in it i rolled her right up on the trailer. The high tech winch remote didn't work so we pushed it right up! Lucky! The two brothers who's dad owned the car were very impressed that the car rolled out!

Nice. There's a custom in the waiting for someone who's wanting to learn how to do body work without taking the risk of messing up a nice car.

Good work! And no need for a wrecker. Looks crazy rotted, but a lot of good salvageable trim and other parts.

  7. Looks like a great project.............
We notice the unusual ribbed wide whitewalls.
If ya look closely at the pic the concentric ribs can be seen.
I have a pic of my dad taken in 1940-41 with his newish 40 convertable. He would have been 22 years or so. His car had a set of those.
Wondering if anyone makes that style now? They may have been Goodyear? Trying to dig this up...

Man.. I don't think there's enough metal left to do anything with but I've seen you guys do magic. The drivers door is the best part.. lots of odds and ends. I'm taking the driveline.. pretty much the rest will be up for grabs.

You should have seen the look on these two guys faces when we would get each step of the way... pop a wheel off, hit the adjusters.. bang the ever living hell out of the drums and poof she spins! Every corner the guys are holding a flashl8ght for me saying holy shit he got another one! All the while I'm saying "thank you Henry!" Right rear wheel had the lug nuts really rusted up bad one took an 11/16 socket and the worst I banged on a 5/8 lol. Wasn't giving up though... I couldn't get the giant trailer into this little driveway so I would have to roll it to the street! Once we got her on the ground she handled like a dream! Nice wheel too. Spotlight, blue dots, cowl antenna, little chrome air cleaner and lowering shackles

Those Goodyear tires are repops. They were on my 28 roadster in 1992. Coker sells them still. Only one of the Ford 16" rims were any good that were on the car. I put my tires on so we could move it.. wished the other wheels were good. There were probably ten early ford rims that were all rusted to death

Yes it will need fenders all around unless you plan to fix the swiss cheese corrosion. Still should be an interesting project!

Needs fenders roof full floor cowl quarters hood grill... trunk may be saveable passenger door is straight but no bottom... she's paper thin. Didn't see any holes through the frame but wouldn't be surprised if there were.

46's aren't my thing... I have a 28 roadster to redo and a 32 to build.. which use 46-48 ford running gear!

Last registration sticker... 55k miles on it... really is too bad. Given it had a few customizations from 1952!
