I was planning to run these A model taillights but I'm leaning towards 37 Ford ones.

  3. I like the Harley"tombstone" lights a lot, also like the Hudson taillights in one picture posted in this thread. One thing to think about as we drive our old cars is that we risk getting rear-ended especially at night because drivers today are used to the taillights on modern cars which are huge compared to any taillights from the '20s through the early '50s. The older taillights are tiny and dim compared to what drivers today are used to. I like the Hudson taillights because they are aesthetically appealing but also because they are bigger than most traditional hot rod taillights. I like the looks of '51-'52 Chevy taillights mounted upright and '53-'54 Plymouth taillights turned on their sides, but these otherwise attractive taillights have the disadvantage of being small.

There are no more of those 38 Packard lights left in the wild. My little brother installed a pair in his A coupe almost 30 years ago, and he buys every lense he finds so he won't see other hot rods with the same lights as his.

IMG_1297.JPG I used modified '60 Chevy lenses in my '37 tail lights. Gets, more light out there as they are domed and a nice change from stock '37 lenses.

The above can also be applied to Model A or '32-'36 tail lights as well. It is amazing how much more visibility you have with these lenses, especially if you add led bulbs.

I brought home a set of 32 car taillights to put on my 28 pickup but when I sized them up the lights were hitting the side of the box.

I plopped them on the work bench all numbed out, shit another $100 for something I can't use.

Then I got a brainstorm I flipped them around left on right and right on left.

I love the 35 Pontiac lights I have on my roadster. Unique and not re-popped .... 20161223_140613_resized.jpg

  27. That's what I use on my 34. Most guys go with the 41-48 lights but the lenses are f;at while 40 chevy lenses are angled 34inshop7_22.jpg 34rodders Journal photo.jpg

Marchal taillights, Bosch made them too I believe the Bosch exists in 2 sizes. Found on different cars and trucks from '35 to '50 but not easy to come by especially in good shape.
I have a pair for my A rpu. They also exist with an amber turn signal lens but I've seen only one ever.
