Johnny Thomson won the AAA 1954 eastern sprint title not Joe.

I'm sorry Jim , I was mistaken, but you should have mentioned that Joe won it in 1953. It makes me and Joe both look bad. It would have been very easy for you to FULLY correct my mistake , which I accept. IMG_0064.jpg

I knew he won a championship but not the year. But I did know not 54.

Sorry if my tone was bad.

Thank you Jim, They were both great drivers and great friends. Sostilio was older and was a mentor to Johnny when they drove midgets in the bay state racing club. When Johnny was driving a v8 60 Joe would let him warm up his Offy. Joe, Johnny and Bill Randall were the only New England drivers to win the eastern Sprint Title 53,54 and 1957. they all lived in a 25 mile radius of each other and respected each other. As you know both Johnny and Bill Randall were killed racing.

this is a picture of Johnny Thomson's father 3rd. from right, can you see the resemblance ? He wouldn't go to see Johnny race , it made him to nervous. he was a lineman for Lowell, Ma, Electric Co. IMG_0812.JPG

Have a question for those restoring 60's era sbc powered sprint cars. What are y'all using for headers? Off the shelf, scratchbuilt? Off the shelf and modified? Just looking at what's out there and what others have done. Thanks all.

I sure appreciate it. 90% done with the ass end of the car. Just need to mount the brake calipers and it's done. Steering in. Dzus tabs in. All brackets in. Hit a few snags along the way but nothing too frustrating. I've been advised to move this to a build thread but I'll throw up a few more progress pics before I do. Take good care and go build something....

I'm looking for a fuel shut off valve that goes on the dash or on the vintage Moon tanks.
    Thanks $_3-16.jpg dash.jpg $_3-14.jpg

It don't have to be vintage if this shut off valve is still avaliable. But i do need it to be exactly the same valve. Kohler is the original manufacturer of the valve in looking for.
