Checking in late, but man the wait was worth it. I so look forward to Friday's. Payday and art day all in one. Thanks guys.
Thanks Ron, but you can rest assured I am not a professional by ANY stretch of the imagination...only really got interested in this last year, tho I was a drafting major on HS and college. I learn by studying this post every week, and searching the internet for car drawings to study. There are some guys on this site that are incredible talents and it kinda embarasses me from time to time when I see some of the art posted here by guys like Mark A, Corvette Bob, Gary C, Moose, Wild Willie, Ervin, Rusty to even post up a pic...but I am determined to keep at it, besides, I have a high stress job and working on art is a great stress reliever for me.....you all inspire!
{ typo41,} post us a picture of your 40. I only have one real 40 Ford. But it is only yard Art. I will never have the time, or money to build it. I hope that someone saves it someday.{ Ron Brown} you are very talented. I too just have fun with this stuff. My Hot Rods, photos and sketches are stress reliever's too. It has always just been a fun hobby for me too. So here is a photo of my old 40 pickup. {very rough } Ron...
As we all know our own "The Moose" is a wiz with photoshop. Awhile back I asked him to try out an idea for me and he had it done almost before I could check the computer. Below is the photoshop along with where I am at making it a reality. Moved them back a bit from the rendering, but thanks Moose, muchly appreciated. I dabble a little. I once owned a 37 Pontiac 4 door sedan and wondered what it would look like as a delivery so I sketched it out.
My friend from Detroit did these drawings for the club and we made "SUPPORT" t-shirts out of them. Will be making women's t-shirts soon with a different design...You can buy one of these in the Misc for sale section of the H.A.M.B.
I also bought a 28-29 ford sedan body/frame from a buddy and wanted to see it chopped so I sketched it. Yeah it's crude. I also shortened it behind the door because chopped A-sedans look out of proportion to me.
here are a couple more from a few weeks back....been working on making chrome look more like chrome since the Anglia pic. The bike I did for my boss, its a little to "prostreet" for me but I like my job so there we are. Ron
Great thread, the title took some thinking though as for a second I thought that spammer was trying a new angle.
I was looking for some pics for a Link Wray related thread a few days ago and saw this amoungst all the images and it brought about a 'hey that looks familiar'. I'm sure many of you know the feeling and its just part of the reality of things...I did a right click save and here it is...
{ Lepus } I like the the 4o with the flames. But there's a wall against the hood on the passenger's side. How's that possible? Here is a small scale 40 with some cool flames.
Finally got my Gary C belly tank framed. Man it's hard to take a picture of a picture with an iPhone. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Not mine of course but found this in search and don't think anyone here wouldn't be impressed with the caliber of this vintage muraling...and hey a skirted 39 Chebby Credit to Owners, Photographers & Original Posters
Ha Rusty...not holdin out, just take constructive criticism well...the note last week about making my chrome look more believable flipped a switch and made me really look hard at how the better artists treat this. Also...your pic of the VW brings back memories. Back in the 70s while draggin the main in Fresno, there was a guy running around with a V8 powered bug that resembles your drawing very much. It had a can of Raid painted on the sides and said BUG KILLER...it was bad ass....Thanks for the help, be safe, have a great weekend..... Ron
