The car looks English or French, they need ropes.

    Partners of madness……

Here are a few photos of my new M3W that was personally delivered by Brett Cendana - Sales Manager of Morgan in Morgantown, West Virginia and his wonderful wife, Trish, last Saturday morning. I had ordered the M3W last August and just about six months to the day, it was in our High Noon Speed Shop!

I have just christened it Spitfire II and look forward to continuing my journeys to Nowhereville this coming year! You ask what is Spitfire I and where is Nowhereville? Well, you can follow along right here: https://ontheroadtonowhereville.wordpress.com/

    Hello Rolf,
Beautiful grandson of cycle-cars - inspired by necessity: no gasoline for Parisians during German occupation! Most of similar cars had only pedals, but owner of this one had a hope that sometimes could get litre-two of gasoline (benzine)...

I was always interested in tandem-seats configuration that was used by light quadricycles: veteran cars or cycle-cars, even some bubble-cars... However, if they had comfortable seats - they are too long, if cramped in motorcycle style - then they are not so narrow (legs of passenger must pass around driver)...

Never could catch while Bédélia and some other had driver at rear seat?

    Regards,
    Zoran

    Rolf,
Quite detailed encyclopedia or at least lexicon of cycle-cars!

I counted 13 pages (each with 50 photos), with total 614 photos of cycle-cars! Studied (and copied) just 50 of them...

Beautiful black/white photos from period, with nice atmosphere, with short text for each... Always admired me how people had great joy and fun with so modest autos and in the same time take all that very seriously... Some of the cycle-cars are quite unorthodox and even primitive, but a few (as Salmson, Amilcar and a few other) looks as “normal” autos and soon was developed to magnificent light sport cars in 1100 class!

I suppose that I shall spend a lot of evenings studying that web-site...

I second the recommendation for this site. Gallica is an ongoing effort to document French history & culture. The search above is now up to 17 pages, 846 results, and can be expected to grow more as time goes on. I'm only halfway through it & already have a long list of cyclecar marques to research that I had never heard of.
One note: take their classification of a car as a cyclecar with a grain of salt. They lump voiturettes in with cyclecars, both before and during the cyclecar era, and have some racing cars in the mix that wouldn't be considered light cars or voiturettes, including Alfa Romeos & a GP Sunbeam.
