A neighbor of mine in Aptos, CA had a '54 MGTD with a 260 Ford in it. I foolishly volunteered to fix some problems the builder had 'built' into it...
That 260's length killed any comfort in the resultant road test I had to do, and I only weighed 165 at the time!
This one with the V8 60 makes mountains more sense. (plus the cooool factor...ICY!)

  6. 15 in 14 torque thrusts would give it a '60s flare. If it were me and I had money I would maybe lean toward bullet spokes.

That's low retail NADA, stock, so to me
    it's really not bad.
The rest of the car is really nice also.
If there is interest PM me I will give you info.
I have NOTHING to do with it!
Just think it's a cool one!

  10. Hey 4wd1936,
Just thought of this. Back about '58-'59,
somebody on this side of the river had maybe a '58
    MGA with a 265-283. I don't know which cause I
was about 9 years old, but I remember it screaming
up and down the small side street behind my house.
I thought that was very cool even then!

15K? It's a very good thing I have too many projects already. That would be very tempting. From the looks of the extra oil, the engine may need a little work soon, though. Two quarts for a V8-60?

  12. I'd drive it after lowering and eliminating some of the extra crap...good lines.

Hmm, cool engine. English cars just are not my cup of tea, usually:)
    I´d rather have a 27 T roadster with a v8 60, and a couple beers.

  14. Back in the '60s Rod & Custom magazine had a series on scratch building a wooden model car (1/24th scale?) like that. I always wanted to build it from the articles but never did.

I built this one a few years ago. Last I heard it lives somewhere in Europe. Corvette 350/t5 and full independent Corvette suspension. Was a lot of fun, but very dangerous, way beyond my driving ability. Don't know what happened, doubled up these two pics and left out two other?

  21. It's OT, but in the early '70s I was a Jaguar guy.
As many as 4 daily drivers for me and wifey (boss!)
at one time. From 1957 MKI, 3.4 with a "Hot Rod" set of
Iskenderian E-2 racing cams and a Vertex Scintilla Magneto,
and 8 foreward gears (rewired OD solenoid).
Peged the speedo 140MPH! to wife's 1972 XJ6, New York Autorama
turntable show car, that we had in '76 as a daily driver.
    Back to hot rods!

That's gotta be the best use of a MG I have ever seen. Especialy if "Demon Lucas" has been exorcised.

I kinda like the Rally Wheels on the pale blue car with the SBC. Leaving off the trim rings is a nice subtle touch!

Neat little car there Tony! A guy down the street from me has an original ( not plastic) Austin Healy 3000 with a 302 in it.
