This may get deletes and if so I understand. I recently bought a set of import 32 rails off of that auction site from Closeout Auto parts. They part of the dreaded Hoffman group. They were dirt cheap and free shipping. I bought them on Wednesday. They shipped Friday and I got them Tuesday. They came with a Model A style front crossmember and a square tube rear crossmember set up for coilovers. I've had speedway rails in the past and these are FAR better quality for WAY less money. They are listed as 7 gauge but they are 10 gauge. The front crossmember IS 7 gauge. They were well packaged. I just thought this might save some guys a few bucks. Have you put them in your frame jig yet to see how 32ish they really are?

Didn't you already go down this rabbit hole a couple years ago?

I read something the other day about the reliefs not being exact to original but from the looks of what you got if you are happy life is good and so be it. Non of the usual suspect welding or suspect ball joints in that box that we usually attribute to the Hoffman group pieces.

I bought a set at the local show from Gearhead. I think they are the same thing. I'm happy with mine so far although I z'd mine 6 inches in back so mine have been modified.

I havent. But I have played around with them and a measuring tape. They are very good except from the rear axle point back they flair out a little. Which will be easy to get back where they should be. For the price I am very happy with them

Not 100% sure. Haha! I have a model a roadster but I really don't want to take it apart. I bought them to have so if something came up I would be ready. They were cheap.

I'm not building a concourse car or AMBR contender so for what I will use them for they are perfect

I think Gearhead had some for sale at BTTF's last year for around $500-550. Is that what they cost you? I thought they would be good for use under an A or T, but I'd be leery about the trueness for under a 32. There's a lotta curves under a 32 they would need to match.

I paid $599 shipped. These will more than likely end up under an A.... 32s aren't worth the money they get for them in my opinion.

I gave $450 for mine at a local show. I'll buy another set this year just to have in the rafters for a future build. I've got American Stamping rails under my 32 coupe and under my other 31 roadster but I'm going to use these from now on. They seem to have comparable quality at a lot better price.

I've had a set of speedway rails before and these blow them out of the water.

  18. Can you post a link to the site and the page with the rails? I tried to find it and had no luck. I would like to check them out.

On Epay type in "1932 ford frame rails" I think the price had gone down even more now. Like $509 shipped

Is there a flat area on the front crossmember for the front spring to clamp up to? On some repro "A" front crossmembers the flat area isn't wide enough, and the spring rides up on the radius on both sides and prevents the spring from seating properly. That is not good!

I haven't tried a spring in it yet. I will tomorrow and let you know. But honestly I plan on installing original A front and rear crossmembers.

I took this earlier to show the material thickness. It looks pretty flat in there and corners look sharp.

Mo rust, I really like the '32 firewall and cowl vent in the "A" roadster body!

Thanks. The 32 firewall also is a good way to fix a model A cowl with a messed up or missing front edge.

The rear is just a piece of square tube with two slugs welded in it for coilovers

I bought a pair of those rails last spring. You're lucky, mine came loose ( no box) ,just threw them in the truck and shipped them. They worked for my needs. I cut out what I needed,to fix some crummy work on my frame. What I noticed was that the sides that should be flat were slightly concave. Bill
