Rootie, I'm not sure but that could be Phil Hill at Carrell Speedway. At any rate he did win a race there driving a MG TC sports car.

Also, could this be Françoise Hardy from the movie "Grand Prix"? It's been several years since I've seen the movie but she looks familiar.

  4. Back then the Long Beach Fwy was the "15" when it was just a state highway. It was then changed to the "7" in the early 60's. I think it was then changed to "710" in the 80's when it became an "interstate".

Do you mean yours has no fender emblems? Does yours have a 6 cylinder? 55's had the I6 in a circle for all models having it and I'm not sure on the 56'. I am positive on the 55' V8 emblem when used on the 56' indicated a 272" or possibly the 292 with a 2 barrel. The red Thunderbird emblem was the same for the 292 or 312 with a 4 barrel carb.

  7. 56's with the 6 cylinder engine did NOT have a fender emblem. I know, I had one way back when.

Yeah, it very well could be but I don't know for sure. The MG's were pretty popular at the Carrell foreign car races back then.

Loudbang. The Ormond beach pics are great. They are very evocative. People have to realise that was over 100 years ago.

The Darraq V8 still exists. I have seen it recently at Prescott.
