Stogy - Thanks for pics - the top one, under More Circular Events, there is a kid in the lower right part of frame with his Brownie camera - bet that he had some good shots of the presentation to share with his buddies

Special note of how amazing the individuals with the eyes to capture these moments in time for us to reflect are. This shot not only caught the Gal and Winner, if you look closely the fellow is framed near the cup creating an interesting juxtaposition if that's the word for it...
    sometimes its coincidence, sometimes not...

I always thought that the 1957 "Black Widow" Chevrolet was the first to run 6 lug rims.......
Was this normal for Stock Cars prior to 57?
I know..... I know..... why am I looking at lug nuts on this thread? o_O
    Just curious...... :D

Really the whole point of all of this is to have a good time, provoke thought and learn and share a thing or two. This thread is even more highly scrutinized...for every detail and yeah there's even some cars...:D

I snooped around a bit and found this Quoted from a discussion site...never know
Subject was 6 lug wheels and the car mentioned was that 56...

"I'm thinking that Chevy offered a " farmer's option " suspension package on their production cars, similar to the option Chrysler had that allowed Johnny Mantz to run 16 inch rims ( and Firestone Indy tires !!! ) on his Southern 500 - winning Plymouth. This may also have been an " Export Option ", for use on the gravel roads of Mexico. Maybe Mr. Duntov cooked up an option and had a factory part number assigned ??? I'll check with my Chevy Expert buddy for sure."
