lucky, i guess so... and to meet the original builder.... priceless...
    just a thought....
i see the standard horn button in the banjo wheel ... i measured mine and had it turned down on a lathe, popped down flush with the hub... even saved a little of the light switch tabs...
    pix wednesday, snowing hard now...

OK, This is your car and you are probably someone who was raised to be somewhat modest in talking about your personal achievements, BUT do you know how bad ass this thing is? Yes, I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing it in motion but just the shots of it sitting coiled and ready to pounce make me happy. Thanks!

  11. Birdog, so sorry to hear about your loss of your granddad. Be thankful you had the time with him that you did. Lot's of us old rodders never got to spend any time with ours. All we have is the stories to live with. Your roadster is looking great and I hope you make it to the salt this year along with Bruce and his roadster...We will have a blast if you guys do this. It is looking like I will be there with my 3 window and my son in law & daughter are driving my roadster out this year. Can you say.....Party time..

Thank so six ball I happy to be the caretaker. And there is a million things I would like to clean up on it and make more presentable. But between work, school and family I don't get as much time to work on it as I would like. If you are out at speedweek this year I will let you take it for a spin!!

Be careful what you offer. That alone is reason enough to go out for Speed Week. I am hoping to make it this year.I hope the snow runoff doesn't spoil it. See you there just want to check it out in person.

  20. Oh I'm already in. I already have my bag packed.
Hey birdog I might be able to help you out with a tach set up like mine. I have something stirring in a pot I'm cooking.;) It will take awhile but I will get you set up. We just need to find a tach. I have extra bracket and drive and we can get a cable made.

Just found this thread, great find, and the way you've built it up to preserve it is amazing. May not be able to keep this set up forever, but to see it rolling as close to "as found" makes me smile.

  25. May not be able to keep it like this forever???? Don't be a hater.lol:D He already went back to 6-v. It's a done deal. He just needs a tach from about 1941-49. Who's got one for him. I got the rest for him.

  26. Hey how does your motor mount. Do you have original 32 mounts or is it mounted by the water pumps to the frame rails???????

I have one of these on the way to try to adapt for my Bobcat. Thinking I might be able to use one on the Chevy 4 in my roadster. It might be fitted to a flathead timing cover with the '49-'53 distributer. $9.00 is worth the gamble.

A spin would be an honor. We'll see if I'm up to it. I might be able to crawl in the "Girl" door for a ride.
