Damn! I've been agonizing for years about what color to paint my coupe. All this talk of white, Ivory or cool vanilla firewalls made me think cool vanilla would look good on my firewall...and the rest of the car too! It looks crazy good on my Chrysler 300-why not on my coupe? And the firewall will be cool vanilla.

Those are two beautiful flatheads - Henry is smiling up there. Something about that red with natural aluminum is just right, ..... and with a white firewall of course.

So, I have a question for all you experienced white firewall guys ;)
I want to use a white on my firewall and wheels, I like the Wimbledon white or the cool vanilla.

Here's the question. I want to powder coat my wheels and paint the firewall.
Anyone who has done that and if so how did you get a match between paint and powder ?

Have your wheels powder coated then have the paint store match your wheels.

White firewalls look good on certain cars, but dark colors do a better job of featuring chrome engine details.

This old OT 39 is fibergl*** by Wescott. The entire car is refrigerator white lacquer. The body has some pearl in it but the firewall does not. The paint has held up well on the firewall and inner fender panels for almost 30 years. The firewall I posted earlier on post 48 on my 40 coupe is Wimbledon white ( is that how you spell that?).

Isn't that a Dodge color to go along with the Corinthian leather :D ?

I've done a 32 sedan, 28 roadster and 40 coupe all with Wimbledon white. It's the perfect color. Gary

Mine is a custom mix that I did to match my top and compliment the leather in the seat insert. Horrible capture but the only one that has all three in the pic. Inner fenders, the underside of the hood and the entire underside of the car are painted the same tan.

I think white is totally appropriate on a Hot Rod or Mild Custom, Ford HP White with matte clear
