  2. image.jpg So I go and pick up my sun model 600 distributor tester machine today that I bought from a friend and see this lucky lager knob hanging on his peg board. I showed him the picture of the one I had on the roadster and said oh yours is plastic. I said yea and it hits the door. He said here put this on in the car it looks way better and is old as hell. It's funny how one thing leads to another huh? image.jpg image.jpg

  4. image.jpg This is the same machine that my distributor was built on for hypersonic. My friend just bought his dream machine and sold this to me for 300.$ I had to buy it. He charged me 250 to build me my distributor so now I can do them myself. He kept the flathead dis. Adapter so now I'm on the hunt for one. One more tool to cherish.

  5. I think I'm going to walk the plank if my axel doesn't get in the ups truck this week. Now I'm over it. It's to the hey hurry the fu$$ up already buddy stage. I'm about to drive to ok. So much for the "I would rather tell you 6-8 weeks and get it done in 3". I guess it's my fault for waiting till the end of the build to send it off huh? :( On the other hand maybe good work takes time? I do want it to be right. Oh well back to BBQ.

I was wondering way back why you were selling the dropped axle with the other chassis.

  7. Because I'm stupid! But not anymore. I have been drinking smart water.:D Only after i sold the other chassis and firewall did I say to myself well now you need to build his 3w. I had a rolling chassis with a cherry firewall. But hey just makes the hunt more fun. I don't want to shoot fish in a barrel. I like the hunt.

  10. Tim I called him 2 weeks ago and he said he would have it done the next week. I know he's busy as hell so I'm not complaining as much as whining. I'm just being a cry baby.lol I just want to burn rubber so I'm playing the waiting game and just like everyone else I hate waiting. It's all I have left before I go hypersonicccccccccccccc.

  11. My other grandpa always told me good work takes time. That has and always will stick in my mind and even my customers know because I tell them. You always get what you pay for. I don't want the rush job. I want the take your time and be proud of your work job! If you take pride in your work you will always have customers. Doesn't mean I can't be a baby about how long it takes. :)

Oh, yeah, Dennis. It will never squeak, either !.

  18. I'll be honest. I have an Okie Joe axle in my pickup and I am less the impressed with the work.

Hey, Bruce. Everything is good my way. I just found out that Dennis is coming to the Roundup this Friday-Saturday. We are gonna hit some speed shops and Mexican food restaurants, then seriously cruise after I visit the shitter. Better safe than sorry. Only things missing this weekend will be you and Cyclone. How is Hypersonic coming along ? Joyce and I have been in Hondo at our boy's place off and on for several weeks and haven't had access to the computer all the time we've been there.

When I was in the Navy (Mar.'68-Feb.70), we had beer call every Tues. and Fri. on the pontoons hanging on the starboard side of the ship when we went down south. Luck Lager was one of the beers along with Schlitz and Lucky Eight. Man, that stuff tasted great, all of it ! All our shit was in cans.

San Francisco has a really good beer called Anchor Steam. Until recently, it was only available locally.

Hey, '805, after reading your post about the axle, then reading the one from Dennis about looking for Okie Joe at the Roundup, we will BOTH be looking for his ass. What kind of B B Q are you savoring ? My Grandson recently dispatched a nice little sow, about 45 lbs. and it was sooo tasty.

With that "British" shift assembly, you can drive to the pub for a spot of tea....................or a Lucky Lager. LOL.

  27. Gary I got to get down your way for some good times. All that Mexican food sounds great. Plus do some hotrodding.

  28. Quality of the work, or just aesthetics? I have a Okie Joe dropped 33-36 axle under my 34 and it's just fine.
