I'm looking for a dodge 218/230 block for my 46 dodge. And I want to get an edgy head for it. My question is. Does the head only fit a certain year block. I know the later blocks had an extra water passage. Does edgys head come with that or am I better off getting an older block. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Have you contacted the Montana Dodge Boys? They do some 6 cylinder stuff, too. http://www.fastfourspecial.com/
I have a couple of good 218 blocks/motors - available and will gladly sell one or both. PM / conversation time!
I might have to talk to them thank you. Also. Plym49 I have a block lined up as of now so I'll keep that in mind. I'm just trying to figure out if the edgy aluminum head will work with that year or not. Thank you for both the replays. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The 218 and 230 motors are the same length. These are the 'short' motors. Chrysler and DeSoto and many if not all Canadian cars used the 'long' engine that is about a couple of inches longer and had a different displacement.
Why not just call Edgy and ask? I'm sure he knows and can advise accordingly. Sent from my SM-G900V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
To be honest I was looking for a quick answer while I was searching through other forums. I'll most likely end up calling him. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
