I put this one up for sale back in November but no takers. I just got it back on the road this week. I'm going to drive it now as a work truck.
A deal has been struck and I'm picking it up on Weds. Hasn't run in about 20-25 yrs, he built it in 1972 and put on about 10k. Went to pick up a part for a HAMBer in Canada he won on Ebay (the person wouldn't ship it) and there it was on car dollies. I'll start a post when I get it and have more pics.
My 41, I built this truck in the mid 90's and still have it! But I think over time the cab has shrunk.
Probably getting OT but here's a pic of a 41 fire truck on craigslist. Located in VT. Sent from my SM-G900V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Funny this one should be at the top when I got home. Thought about going back to look at this one on my drive
Just bought a 41 panel truck will post more when I dig her out of the car port after fathers day weekend
One thing that always seemed off to me is the 40/41 headlights. They look like an add on - and don't flow well with the design. I guess it was a rush design in order to move up to sealed beam bulbs. I changed mine to the '39 deluxe and it looks much better. I painted the inside buckets an ivory color and the bulbs are halogen (6v). - Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Man, oh man I am a dyed-in-the-wool Chevy guy and I am currently finishing the redo of my avatar '55 truck which is no longer HAMB friendly. BUT, I am totally in love with '39-41 Fords in general and pickups in particular. So much so that when I am done with my '55 and drive it awhile, if I gets good offer I might have to sell and look for a '40 Ford truck. I already did this after a fashion in that I had a nice '46 Chevy truck with Jag IFS & IRS, 350/350 and even though it was a nice truck I sold it to get the '55.
