...thought it was time to finally introduce myself. I'm Brian, I was heavy into rods and customs back in the day... took a few years off for kids and business. I didn't want to regret all those cars I didn't build, so here I am, getting back into it. I built some interesting stuff back-in-the-day, souped up Checker Marathons, a '53 Chevy Pro-Street-style Panel Truck with a 396, Turbo 400, narrowed 9", and Charger front suspension that was setup like a race team's chase truck. Also did a couple of Harleys, a skinny Bobber, and a really fat one. These days I'm building up a '53 Hudson Hornet with electric motors. After I get that sorted out, it's onto the dozens of little fab jobs that go with any weird motor swap...linkage, bracketry, wiring, etc., plus a full restoration of an orphaned car. Keep the faith... Brian V.
Electric cars had been around since the mid-1800s. The day someone completed the second car, there was electric car racing, lol. I'm following the tradition to soup up my Hudson with a motor-swap. I'm going about it the same way I did all my other motor swaps. If it's not cool to talk about it, let me know, I'm no knucklehead, I won't bother anyone with it. I'm thankful for the info so far, at any rate.
Hi. You are the judge of what you like so build what you like. On the Hudson do you still have the old engine? If so I have a friend with an old 37 Hudson pickup missing engine and maybe transmission Looking for overhaulable stuff to get it running. ol-nobull@hughes.net if you have any of that to get rid of.
