Yes, they raced drag boats, you said they raced boats in that circle to the right, which would suggest circle boat racing. The DIRT circle track just happened to ocupy a tiny little portion of where the boat drag strip was earlier.

 

Don't think I was complaining when I said she does already show up about every 10 pages. She's pretty sporty!!

 

Is that a snow plow on the front of the T-Bird??? Maybe it's a "snowbird".
