so I did a quick search on removing a turn signal switch and came up empty handed. Anyone done one of these on a 1955 custom line?

You have to pull the steering wheel to get to the switch,it attaches with screws. HRP

On a Grant wheel like yours pop off the horn ****on under that is the horn ring and adapter hub the wheel is held on by 3 bolts remove it and the hub adapter the turn signal is under that. Here is the adapter kit used on your Ford.

Thank you! I've gotten a bunch of wiring done and now for the inner guts or wiring. The group is most knowledgeable hands down

Going on a feeling that the shaft has to be pulled out to get this, correct?

The shaft will not need to come off, but that aftermarket adapter will before you can remove the turn signal switch. Do you have a puller that will fit that Y shape? it should remove pretty easily. After that is just a matter of a couple of one small screw and bolt to lift the whole switch out of the cup. (as I recall anyway)

So the "y looking part" just needs to be pulled off the shaft? Just a typical puller for a crank pulley or something should do?

A pulley puller would be overkill. You need a steering wheel puller. Any good parts store will have 'em.

Anyone know where the wires go for this? Previous owner never had it hooked up.

These diagrams usually print out at 8 X 10 I went to a Fed-Ex copy shop and had it blown up to an 11" X 14" and laminated cost about $6 made it a lot easier to read and grease proof.
