Hello I wonder if any one knows or has some pic which shows how the ignition lock should be put in the dashboard and so i stay there in its place? Regards Mikael
Assuming you already have it out, while pressing the switch into the dash from the back screw the switch retaining nut onto the threads and tighten securely. If you don't already have the switch out press on the switch from the back and unscrew the retaining nut.
I'm trying to remember correctly, but I think there is more to it than that. I want to say there is something you push or do to the side of the block, but I can't say for sure. I can look at the book when I get out to the garage.
Yup, Dobie is right. Its the headlight switch that has the spring loaded*****on on the switch housing to remove the knob and shaft.
Thanks for your answers, it the spring i have to get correct in place to look ignition switch. Regards Mikael
The spring fits over the lock cylinder on the switch, then, if I remember correctly, the lock cylinder goes through the large hole on the upper right, then through the hole in the dash.
If someone could post the exploded view from the Ford Parts Manual that would probably do the trick,I would but my new O.S. won't co-operate.
Here are some pic s of my dashboard and i have been able to put the ignition in the right place Regards Mikael
