Best name of all was Eddie Potter's "Sudden Death" Fiat comp coupe. Almost was true when he ran it off the end at LIONS, and wadded it up good.
Short lived, but sure lived up to it's name! The Sudden death comp coupe. They don't come any nastier!
The above Lark belonged to Jim Reid and Dave Herbst. We ran it with my 331 Long bell Chrysler out to 354 with 354 heads. Algon injection and a Winfield cam. When we took it to Fremont, funney cars were very new and not popular around here. people in the stands were yelling at us to "Get that funny car out of here". I was yelling back that it was an Altered and not a funny car. If nothing else it gave me the chance to meet and talk to Al Gonzales and Ed Winfield. Ed had good stories about Indy.
It's amazing how many old photos I come across and post and a HAMB member pops up and says hey that is my old car and we learn the rest of the story.
