I've seen this picture before, but for some reason it just dawned on me that this car is a pretty rare bird - a '53 Chevy 210 "vert". Production on the 210 ragtops was halted in mid-1953 and only a little over 5000 units were produced. They produced nearly 5-times that many Bel Air convertibles that year. Black sidewalls, dog-dish caps - didn't see many of these even back in the day!

 

Any NJ - ites remember Kiernan's on Rt46 in Netcong?

 

I read someplace that it is a Holman-Moody custom competition '62 Falcon 260 V8, 4speed trans, and was run at Sebring by drivers Marvin Panch and Jocko Maggiacomo.
