That technique you use on the bottom edge of the fenders is such a good idea. It will hopefully help me save some 39 rear fenders I have that I thought were beyond saving. My shop seems to create dirt even when I am not out there working.......
That's an outstanding repair on the fender. I also will keep that technique for the fender roll in mind.
Lower front edge of fender needs some love, too. There are pinholes extending a few inches from the edge so this patch will have to be a little wider, not just the rolled edge. The tubing was a little challenging to bend because the bend needed to be not just in one plane, but truly a 3D shape. To accurately position the tubing on the patch I cut off the outer edge of the fender to allow placing the tubing in the correct orientation in relation to the patch and tacking it in place. Then taking it off and tacking it, and rolling the edge. I was a bit careless when I started shaping the metal which resulted In some folds and kinks which didn't smooth out 100%, but I will work on it some more when all is welded solid. Welded up and finished for now. Just applied some Ospho is why there is some white stuff visible. Smoothed out the old damage as well as I could. Didn't want to bang on the old previously worked on area for too long. All the fenders are done! Blasting the body shell is next, but I will manually clean up some more of the tar stuff on the inside of the body and generally prep it for dustless blasting. Been going back and forth if I should go dustless or standard media blasting. I could not get one recommendation for a local media blasting place, so I guess I will give dustless blasting a try. I went ahead and manually stripped the inside of the body so I can put it in primer before having the outside dustless blasted. I used just about every tool I had to scrape, scratch, wipe, etc the inside clean, including paint stripper and torch. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I decided to go ahead and do the rust repair where the fenders bolt in the the body at this time, because there was quite a bit more rust through than i had originally thought. Both sides needed at least 2/3 of the entire length patched. I wanted to save the radius of the wheel well and cut right at the end of the radius to preserve the shape and strength of the body when I cut out the strip. Lots of overhead welding. First time seeing the work on my pal's car in person, I was floored. It is amazing. This car will be something else.

You've mentioned several times that you put Ospho on the bare metal once you've finished the repair work, how long will that keep the rust at bay and can you paint right over the Ospho?
