Has anyone here ever heard of these? I just did. I understand that next weekend there is a drag Race in L.A. somewhere called the Antique Nationals. Does anyone have any info on this? Sounds like a neat deal. Kinda far for me in Norcal, but I might be able to make it next year.
YES RON MOSER and the forever four model a club of socal put the show on it used to be held at la county raceway in palmdale until the track shut down a couple years ago now its in fontana its a ton of fun and just an all around great day at the track seeing a bunch of old timey rods customs and dragsters
The Antique Nats have been around forever...just the venues change. Check your hot rod history books!
Jimmy, You are probably referring to Antique Nationals at Fontana, 661 255-1931. I think they may be able to put you on a mailing list for next year, Charlie Stephens
yup i believe befor LACR they were at irwindale (the og) not sure where they were before that but ya my tell stories of goin to them with my uncle when he was a kid
Showing your age a bit aren't you? This is about as traditional as it gets and an absolute do not miss event - especially if you are into bangers.
They used to run in Signal Hill, waaaaay back when. I can remember reading about the hill climbs in Hot Rod magazine as a kid. (mid 50's) Yeah...I'm an old fart too!
I have a really good friend going this year, running a 33 Ford coupe purchased in a pile from another, recently deceased, really good friend. I have to work... my kinda luck. It would be something to see that car run.
Too bad it's in California. I start shakin when I cross the California border and it only stops when I see the leaving California sign in my rear view mirror. LOL
It was a fantastic event...the roped - off area for a car show and hundreds of pre-1959 hot rods, gassers, race cars and even a couple dragsters. I brought my '37 gasser and had a ball! Sent from my SM-N900V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hey, Bob. You still have the coupe. No Hot Rod 100 this year So-Cal Tex work load is too heavy for him to make it happen.

Saturday before Mother's Day. Dates are tough to get a Fontana. I think they allow cars to 1959 now. My first was Irwindale in 75, then OC, Palmdale, now Fontana... Fun day
