Does anyone repop the canisters, misplaced mine.

  2. Why avoid the fitting? You still need something that's 1/4 pipe at the carb. You want the PCV in between two chunks of hose then?

^^Yep, that is it.^^ --> Closed PCV system. But there is no need for the br*** fitting at oil filler tube. The PCV valve will screw directly into the tube.

This is the way the factory 1966-67 "Open PCV" system is configured. Rubber hose from the that initial picture the OP posted to the PCV valve and rubber hose from the PCV valve to the carburetor. There is clip that holds the PCV valve and bolts to the manifold.

  6. The OP has a 64. I don't see where he wants to change to a 66 system. All he wants to do is install a PCV where there was none. Still needs a fitting for the carb, yes?

  7. No need ..Just gives a nicer, neater look.

Was waiting for the astute observers to catch that. It originally screwed directly into the fill tube.
That was required to clear the shock tower brace on my Nova.

  9. Oops. The o/p is installing an Edelbrock carb. The PCV goes in the front on a hose bib. He can still use one of those L type valves and a short hose off carb, to run it around the p***enger side to the crankcase fitting . The L part just pulls off anyway, if it's plastic.
The carb should still have a 1/4 pipe plug in the back, as a vacuum source. Also probably one on his aftermarket manifold, too.

Are not some PCVs not designed to be laid down?

  11. I don't know. Maybe . Never cut one open. Might look around for one tomorrow.
Maybe need to go with the screw on one after all. LOL

Seem like I read that.....or maybe it was just a dream?

  13. Just looked at a diagram. I would think the base of the plunger is just slightly smaller than the shell. Can't see where it would move side to side much. Up and down, yes. That's the rattle you hear.

I'm headed to the parts store hub this morning to do some digging. Ive found one that should work and may look at a couple more while Im up there. I can report back w parts numbers later. @markyac as far as avoiding the T fitting I was just trying to spend less time hunting small parts and get this thing done for now, but Im not married to any one idea other than making this thing work again. Thanks again for all yalls input.

Found a PCV that looks like its gonna work for what I need. The big barb is the same size as the one off the factory fitting the small is the same as the barb on the Edelbrock 4bbl and the flow is the right way. Got slowed down blasting and repainting all my small parts, should finish it all up with one more day in the shop.
