hi I'm looking for the top tab location in the quarters. i can't seem to find it anywhere. thanks for any help
What is a "top tab"? As you can see from my AVATAR I can probably help once I understand what you need. Charlie Stephens
He's asking for the location of the tab that sticks up from the quarter panel where you affix the top iron/bow. I think there was a guy over on the Ford Barn website that makes that elongated, raised edge hole in a small panel you can weld in. You might try a search there too.
The slots on my Wescott body are not cut out but best I can tell by the raised spot the center of the slot is approx. 3&1/4" from the door opening edge. To be sure I would get measurements from a couple original cars to get an average.
4.5" from door opening to center and 1 inch up from the body to center of the hole. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
The numbers seem to be all over the place. Mine is 3 inches from the center of the tab to where the body drops off to become the door jam. Maybe there was an early or late or standard or deluxe location. My tab probably appears to be closer to the outside of the body since I welded a piece of 1/4 stock into the body to keep it from cracking at the curve. Charlie Stephens
Are you measuring the same as I did in post #6? From the center of the tab to where the body drops off to become the door jam? Charlie Stephens
