Today I planned to plumb the fuel but got in the garage and was all over the place. Swapped carbs again, put in a new front spring, shackle bushings, and one spring perch. I tidyed up the wiring then bolted down the cowl. More tomorrow I'm sure.

Looking Great Ronnie! I guess I'm a real slacker if I don't get some paint on mine before TROG!

Took last nite off, didn't even step foot in the hideout. Wifey said "you know tonite is the first nite in three weeks that you didn't come home and go right into the garage." That means double the work tonite!

After taking a couple nites off I have to catch up. I need a fan and generator set up so I kind of mocked them up and it looked like I could make a plate to hold everything. 20170525_173515.jpg 20170525_175835.jpg 20170525_180150.jpg the fan had to go WAY back so I flipped the bracket and it lined up so I moved forward

20170525_182202.jpg 20170525_205210.jpg I hogged out the plate to put the shaft through then all I have to do is put two bolts then the fan will be the belt tightener too, perfect. 20170525_220957.jpg the fan hits the coil so I can trim the blades-no big deal
Then I put the radiator on

Mine had a really small fan Ronnie and cooled without issue. Keep going buddy almost there.

Thanx Ray. So I probably have 7 hours into the front of the motor now and I think it will work. 20170526_165649.jpg 20170526_165511.jpg 20170526_165550.jpg

The fan is a joke! Put rad hoses on. The list is getting shorter. . . 20170526_202413.jpg

Ya, the 28s and 29s have that short radiator. It's a lot harder to fit a fan in there. Nice job.

Keep at it! It's coming together now, looks good. It really lives up to the thread title, I love this build.

  14. Crazy good job Ron! Love the red and your lettering is reminiscent of the 'edelbrock' race car- which I think will also be at TROG! Keep up the good work- I want to see that thing!

Like the lil' red roadster, my first rod run was at the Cam Snapper's event in Newburyport. '83

Me too! Been very anxious to drive this thing but. . . I need to put throttle linkage on, bolt down the back half of body, find out why fuel not getting to pump, put rad hoses on, fill rad, etc. Another full day on this 'car'

Now the last pic makes me think you just need a raccoon tail on an antenna to beat the train to the crossing like the little hot rod in the Looney Tunes

I hope that's not my fate! Got some things done but no drive yet. I melted my coil-that stunk up the garage wicked bad! 20170529_153007.jpg I put the driveshaft in then new shackles. 20170528_105742.jpg next up throttle: 32 banger that needed a tune up 20170529_154116.jpg 20170529_163105.jpg 20170529_173818.jpg 20170529_173832.jpg yes, I know it's crooked, only one fastener holding it in this pic
