Ss34coupe, thanks for the compliment, but let me clarify ... My good friend gene has done all the work . Check out "frankenford is born " thread. We started with some very rough pieces and parts and I'm absolutely amazed at what he was able to do. It's a jigsaw puzzle for sure , but all Henry ford(except the panel under deck lid). Couldn't be happier with it. Thanks gene !!!!

Here is a pic of the coupe first shown in post #403 of this thread. The old coupe is being ably rebuilt by my buddy Ron, and he is staying true to the traditional rodding game plan. Going to be a fenderless highboy with a Champ quick change behind a Buick nailhead motor and Cad/Lasalle trans. Ron is doing a great job on this build. 6990cef1debb7b684559a28119e23e1d.jpg

Here is Ron getting the Buick nailhead lined up in the frame - bought the motor from someone who wanted to update their already restored Buick. This motor should get the coupe down the road very quickly. image1 copy.JPG

Kenneth, I was admiring your car at Pendine. I love the old paint and general look of the whole thing. I have a 33 also and wish my paint looked like that.

^^ Shit, not bad. Looks like a real trunklid too. Doors aren't that hard to come by, considering 4 door front doors could be made to work. Even if the firewall and cowl is fucked up, that there would be all you'd need to swap onto a 4 door body to make a coupe. Plus a tail pan, but those aren't that pricey. That could make someone's dream come true.

Hey guys, I'm making progress on the '33 project, but I could really use some help with some measurements if anyone could take some for me.

I didn't have much for quarter panels to start with, this is the better of my two donor coupe quarters.

    20170904_222225.jpg
So I had to narrow up the sedan wheelwells to coupe dimensions as best I could, and make lots of filler pieces. Here it is tacked together into one piece.

    20170906_132349.jpg
I had to use a piece of the body line from under the rear window to fill in the missing part, it looks wonky in the pic but it's pretty straight in real life. I had a decent sized chunk of the flat part so I used it in an effort to use as much old sheetmetal as possible, but it also means a couple extra seams right in the middle of the quarter, I might pay for that once I get to welding and grinding there but we will see.

The other side I actually had less original quarter panel to work with, but I made the flat part in one big piece so in the end this side should turn out pretty decent.

This is what's left of my donor driver's coupe quarter, just couldn't save this bit.

As you can see, the trunk "hole" is pretty much non-existant, so I could really use some measurements here.

If I could get the front to back measurement of the upper trunk panel, I used a piece of tape to demonstrate what I'm after. I know my body line under the rear window isn't quite the same but I'm just going to go for it anyway.

See what I'm going for here? Sorry about the bad pic.

I also need the same measurement for the trunk tail panel, including the body line but not including that little lip that hangs below. Something like this.

    20170906_133255.jpg

And also the width of the trunk lid (is it uniform width top and bottom?) and the length of the trunk lid front to back (assuming you bent the tape measure over it). I'll make a trunk lid but I have to figure out how wide to make the opening, there's just nothing left to go off of, even the tops of the quarters I just welded on will need to be pieced in.

    20170906_133040.jpg

I know it'd be easier to just buy new quarters, trunk lid and all that, but I actually got a bit better '34 body recently and I want to finish up this '33 and sell it to focus on the '34, trying to keep the price of this '33 cheap enough that someone will want it so that means I can't drop $4K on new panels for it but I also think it'll be easier to sell in one piece. Plus the knowledge I gain from assembling this one from shrapnel will make the next one easier, and I have some better quarter panel bits for that one.

This is the width of my decklid in the middle. It measures about the same from the top, middle and bottom of the hole.

This is the panel below the trunk lid measured just to the left of the trunk handle. Don't mind the big holes, this car has suffered some indignities in a previous life.

Here is what some call the tulip panel. The shitty gap fitment is actually just the perspective of the picture, believe it or not. (most of it anyway...)

I have brought some pretty rough Ford sheetmetal back from the grave, but geez man, you might just be top five.

Gimme a holler if you need specific pics

Here is my new 33, by the way. I would show you a picture, but it's a secret.

Thanks so much FlamedAbone! That is excellent info, and I am going to be working on those areas tomorrow, so I really appreciate the quick response. Your new '33 looks great by the way, what I wouldn't give to start with something so intact.

I've followed your builds and that quote means a lot coming from you. Honestly though, through the aquired knowledge of several other similar coupe conversion threads, this body has been coming together relatively easily. This picture was taken on hour #1, and I'm probably only into it about 60 hours at this point.

I'll be sure to post updates here once I get it into one piece/in primer.

^^ Hell yes I could use those! I'd happily pay for them too, those would get my '34 project way farther along and make it more accurate, too. I'm already pretty deep into pieceing the '33 together but I would love to have those for my '34. I'll send you a PM right now.
