I have a 34 Standard and the vacuum wiper has finally bit the dust. I have owned the car since '74 and have been able to repair it a few times. I cannot find a rebuild kit for it. Does anyone make an electric unit that will fit into the header? I have a universal electric one but it is too big.
    Thanks

  3. put a long zip tie on one of the lugs and point the "tail" out so you can see it.

The electric boat or street rod wiper motors are all universal fit the early chevys......I have been running one in my coupe since 1970 never failed.....speedway motors may have some listed on ebay with wiper arm included, I know I bought 3 of them from them..........you need to shorten the threaded shaft . Price depends on whether all chromed or black or whatever. They stick out a bit on inside thru header upholstery panel

    Try YOGI;s also.

A guy named DAVID FICKEN in around NY has been doing that repair rebuild forever of vintage vacuum wiper motors..........Babylon NY, just came to me.......google him. Might not do internet ?

mark the axle flange at top , then use crow bar between studs to turn the gears.

TB, thanks for the heads up on the mighty wiper. How has it worked for you? I like it would fit behind the header panel. I have a boat one, would need to modify the panel for it. Just looking for options

  12. it works fine. typical salesmanship, call it "mighty" and people will think it is powerful. it's ok and works fine for a hot rod. i did get caught in a pretty good rain storm on my trip to maryland, i could see. forget snow/ice or torrential down pours. ted 013.JPG DSCF4416.JPG

with those gears 2.50 you can attempt the local land speed record on an interstate near you.
you will have no bottom end grunt
    no mid range pull
turn your motor into a powerless hunk of scrap metal

    suggested street highway gears 3.25-----3.50.

Here are some pic's of my '34. Owned it since '74. 327, Turbo 400, Dodge Dart K member and torsion bars. Finished it in 1981. Recently finished redoing it, new wiring, brake lines, rebuilt motor & trans. New vintage air. Adapted Chevy metric brakes to front. Repainted fenders. Still a few things to finish. Drive it almost daily.
