From Power Tour coverage. I didn't see this car in person, though it's virtually impossible to see every car that participates.

I'm sure I already posted this one but it's on my list of all time favorite Kustoms.

Funny how tastes change. I remember when folks thought that model was the ugly duckling of its generation. What's even funnier is how good it looks now and aside from the chopped top and taildragger stance, it's mostly stock!

OK - I give up. What did the white truck in the photos posted by David Gersic start life as?

It`s an S-10 with a fiberglass body on the frame. Popular a few years ago. The cab might be S-10 as well with panels attatched to it. . Look at the seats, dash and steering wheel. @Speedwrench

  11. Forgot to add an update on this truck. I showed this photo to Rocky Burris Sr. to see if he might know who it belonged to. Turns out it was his old truck. If I remember correctly, paint was by Ron Pinkston. Rocky did say that the bed was done by someone else, I assume after he had sold it.

    How it looks now.
I believe it resides at a rod shop here in Florida and was for sale awhile ago.

  19. Unfortunately, no. This from Kustomrama:
"In 1965, the car was parked outside of Bob's ranch in Brentwood, California. It stood parked beneath a drippy tree until it was put into storage in a barn in the mid 1990s. The barn caught fire, and since the car was done with tons of lead, it pretty much melted away, and what was left got sent to the crusher."

    Bob-palladino-1957-buick-kandy-wagon-bailon-9.jpg
Ironically, that info on Kustomrama is from here. Apparently it was destroyed in the fire shortly after those photos were taken. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/need-photos-info-badly.469170/

Posted by @rocket8 : "i asked if maybe he had some photos of the build, or shots around town, and he said he diddnt think so and that all he had was what was in the magazine, but i asked his daughter (or maybe his wife! hahaha) if she knew of any others and she said shes going to poke around. i think he said the barn caught fire in 97 or 98...."

  24. That truck is VERY kool!
Some of the things I took note of were the molded lips around the taillights that mimic the tag surround, the exhaust tips that line up with the taillights, and the way the stepside "step" rolls out of the bedside.
Also cool how the dash insert is continued onto the doors.

I've not seen a bad picture yet. Love the attention to detail.

There sure are some great customs here but this Mercury really caught my eye, is the back window turned upside down? I really like the fit!
