This internet photo became the topic of a discussion classified under WTF ! Now since this photo came without any info (other than to say "lightening holes" the discussion concluded this is an R&D mock up of sort's. But what engine is this exactly ?
What get's me is this. Are the heads not 90 degrees of one another ? I know of modern engines like that but this does not look modern.
not a Chevy, for many reasons. Not a pontiac, either, since it's a deep skirt block. Not an international, it's too simple looking. Not many engines have a curved valley pan like that, though. The Olds 215 has a different bellhousing bolt pattern, and besides, it's aluminum. Buicks have a flat surface for the ends of the intake to sit on. Good mystery.
I'm surprised to see another guy who had ih come to mind. Ih would also have dizzy in front and 9ish bolts in the flexplate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
no way to bolt converter on, probably a lame way to rotate motor by hand. Note bolts holding it on. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Looks to be a bell housing mounted starter on there too behind that piece of bell, they must have been spinning it for some reason.
Nice And for extra points that will amount to nothing. What Actress/Entertainer does this Booty belong to ?
Did someone cut out a converter, and butchering the flexplat in an attempt to not harm converter? Or did the converter grenade, and destroyed the bellhousing because that looks funky, in a bad way?
I`m not a motor man, but my buddy says you have to tear the motor completely down to replace the rear main seal.
