According to the rules as I interpret them 1965's are the last vehicles eligible. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/post-pulled-due-to-off-topic.1066463/#post-12103406

I, like many I assume, often get confused as to what is allowed and not allowed. Take Studebakers that were manufactured in Canada for instance. Are they or are then not foreign? There are lots of pictures of foreign cars on this and other threads that are modified and on the drag strip. These seem to be allowed, but are they really supposed to be here? I am not one for being too dogmatic about these things but I feel like stuff should either be ignored or enforced. My guess is that a lot of folks that post here are not sure about what is allowed and what is not. By-the-way is my 1965 Studebaker Cruiser okay here or not. Studebakers were only manufactured in Canada in 1965 and 1966.

By '61-2, the strips where we ran in SoCal required them. I had one on my modified '58 Vette and the '62 409. I wouldn't run without one!

What is the purpose of starting a bunch of stuff like this again? "I am not one for being too dogmatic about these things" Really?? Who cares if 65 Studebakers were made in Canada? and wonders if they are "foreign cars?" Best policy is to leave things alone and let us enjoy the thread.

  20. Just a guess since I am from Detroit...."Detroit-Windsor"? Looks like a California plate, though, so I am probably wrong.

By the way, I wonder how many posts on this thread will be gone now that Photobucket has lowered the boom? Some of mine will be gone for sure, but they're a couple thousand pages back.

Had a friend driving a 61 chevy, built 301 power and stock bell housing at dover drag strip way back in 1965.

Blew on the start line and a piece of clutch flew into the crowd hitting a spectator.

Long story short he got sued and lost. Couldn't pay the huge judgement so they garnished his pay check EVERY WEEK SINCE 1966. 51 YEARS he has been paying that judgement.

Funny, any track I've been to (not many, by the way) have a disclaimer on the back of the ticket warning you of the possibility of (among other things) being hit with auto parts and the spectator assumes all risk. This track didn't do that?
