Blasted the remaining smaller parts and will epoxy prime them too.
Then it's on to getting the body ready for color (Washington blue) :)

The parts keep coming out of the paint booth
I'll soon have everything epoxy primed and then it's on to bodywork :)

Nice job Larry, and an excellent use of some time off. Keep it up

Man I love body filler  Not :D
But I've managed to slather a layer over every inch of the little body before I had to stop for the day because the heat is making the filler kick so fast I don't have time to spread it.

Worked much better earlier this morning.
(Even when it's around 30C it still cools down nicely here at night and then we have nice cool early mornings)

So I'll get up early and carry on again.
Time for a cool one

If I had known you were going to use this stuff on the hottest week of the year I would have gotten you the slow version of the filler so you had more working time.

That's just the way the timing worked out :D
It actually worked okay earlier this morning.
I've gone through almost a whole can so far although we know that most of it will end up as dust :)
Just another part of the adventure :D

HAHA believe me I know how that works. It's either pouring rain or 30+ degrees whenever I plan a week to paint.

Having the whole summer off I have to take advantage of the time I have.
As it heated up I just managed to get the primer on all the parts.
When it comes time to spray some color I'm hoping it's a little cooler but I'll work at night if I have to.
Waiting for prescription glasses for my supplied air mask and I'll shoot color on the frame first.
Lots of sanding to do in the meanwhile :D

Lotsa Bondo or whatever was on sale on my T body. Been on there since the '80s with little trouble. A crack here and there where it is too thick. Stripped a '55 Coupe Daville. one rear fender was replaced. Welded on about mid wheel. Still had filler from maybe from the '60s. Looked so good I hadn't noticed it until I sanded down to it. I just left it. The guy I sold it to sent my a thank you. He was a retired body man. Said he just color sanded and polished the Cad. and wins every show he enters.

The filler is sanded down at least initially.
Have to refill a few low spots and level it out again.
When it's finally blocked out what's left will be a very thin skin not much thicker than a few layers of paint.
    So it should be fine.
Not sure if I can get it perfect, but I'll do my best. :D

Are you going to color match the frame to the body? Or are you going with a black chassis?

The frame will be Washington blue like the body.
    So yes color matched.
Wimbledon white for the firewall and wheels and gas tank.

I'm getting so tired of sanding and all that dust  :D
But I'm getting closer to being done.
Going to block a little and see how it goes.
I know I'm going to get tired of chasing perfection :D

I know dam well why I never took auto body as a trade to make my living.
I'd probably have quit and went on to something else long ago :D

I hear ya. Guys that complain about the cost of body and paint work all need to spend a couple of days prepping a car for paint. IT SUCKS!
