You are correct. The shape of the state ones were 50's-60's replaced by ones similar to the ones in the photo but reflective until the 80's. there was a LARGE wide on for use on the rear of the vehicle in the 70's.

The problem with them is people always tried TO STEAL THEM. LOL.

I ended up installing studs then DOUBLE NUTTING THEM and carrying a wrench in my console. A pain in the butt but better than having them disappear and having to explain the loss of equipment to the LT.

Mine from the 70's "protecting" the entrance to my current residence. :) (I guess the statue of limitations has expired for my forgetting to turn it in.)

ps those small black marks are from BUGS hitting them and getting baked on and it is almost impossible to remove the crud without removing the paint too.

Yes KRB they sure did and I think they went up into the 80's for sure, I left in 1984. I remember when the last 460 equipped Fords were going on the auction block and I wanted one badly, no dice.
No, I remember watching "Westside Story" on TV in the late 70's and being attracted, spicy little Boricua, mmmm.

I'd say it got wrapped around a power pole at a high rate of speed.
